Item Details
Description
Southeast Asia, Thailand, Burma (Myanmar), ca. 15th century CE. A lovely ensemble of 3 glazed pottery bowls. Enveloped in a lustrous, light green glaze, the first and largest vessel presents thin walls that span outwards to a wide, flared rim, all sitting upon a ring-form foot. Dark green rings are painted along the interior and exterior, while a tondo of a floral motif adorns the basin. The next bowl also displays a ring-form foot and a wide rim, but instead has a shallow basin and is glazed brown with blue spirals along the exterior. Alternatively, the last dish features a raised rim atop a deep basin and is covered in light blue glaze with a dark blue floral design at the center of the basin. Size of largest: 7.6" Diameter x 2.6" H (19.3 cm x 6.6 cm)

Provenance: ex-Ashland University Museum, Ashland, Ohio, USA, donated to Ashland University between July 1994 to December 1998
