Description
This unusual European machine is an Antique wind-up phonograph, made by the French company, Pathe Freres, circa 1915 to 1920. This model is in the Jour-Nuit, Day-Night, style... it incorporates an external horn for louder playing during the day and an internal horn for softer volume at night... the back bracket that supports the horn is removable, then the arm can be removed from that and inserted directly into the case to complete the easy conversion. The lower cabinet and front grill appear to have original finish but appear to have been varnished over some time ago. There are a few minor cracks in front grill. Has Pathe marked reproducer which is in fixed position to play Pathe / hill n dale records. Also included is a Sapphire ball stylus. The tone arm, back bracket, and horn elbow have all been repainted silver. Has original Pathe 12 panel 19" diameter steel horn which has original black paint and gold pin stripes, in overall good condition with a few minor dings and scrapes. See photos. Has original winding crank. Motor winds and runs.
