Kalliope 9 and 1/4 Inch disc music box. This machine's brown mahogany finish appears to have been refinished many years ago. "Kalliope" is embossed into the top cover. There are a few nicks and scrapes on the cabinet as well as a shrinkage crack in the top cover. The cabinet is missing its lock. The inside of the cover has an attractive original scene depicting a young woman admiring a bird. The single cone mechanism appears to be untouched and original. There is some minor rust on the cones. The cast iron bed plate has its original black paint. There is an interesting small metal dealer tag on the inside of cover. See photos. It comes with an original winding crank which has evidence of some repair. The mechanism has an unusual feature, as it winds with the crank being attached to the center spindle. The mechanism winds, runs and plays. Also included are 13 original Kalliope metal discs in average condition with some minor rust here and there. See photos. The cabinet measures 11.75" wide by 11" deep and 6.5" tall.
