Description
George III Mahogany Butler's Chest-on-Chest
late 18th/early 19th century, in carefully selected figured mahogany, the dentillated cornice with a carved frieze, over two-over-four graduated, beaded drawers, on a base with a pair of paneled doors, raised on bracket feet, the lower drawer fitted with a fold-out face opening to reveal a writing surface and fitted secretary interior.

Condition
**Tight, sturdy and stable, with a fine French-polished surface over a piece with blemishes, mars, wear and minor past repairs.
Drawers slide freely. All locks present, as is a functional key. There are no other drillings for drawer pulls than those currently utilized. Some of the posts and nuts securing the bails are modern replacements and others appear to be antique/of the period.
There is a loss to the molding at the top of the base, on the back edge of a side against the wall, approximately 1/4" wide, 1/8" tall and 3" long.
Interior leather writing surface replaced and in good condition.
