Large Art Nouveau Figural Newel Post Lamp

ca. 1900, French, composed of patinated spelter, marble and frosted glass, the figural standard, after Jules-Felix Coutan (French, 1848-1939), of a woman holding an arching grapevine set with green frosted glass grape shades and grape leaves, the base signed "Coutan" and with "J. Jourdan" foundry inscription, raised on a rosso antico marble plinth.

**In "as found" condition. The surface has mild pitting and wear from age. The marble base has minor chipping along the lower outer edge. There is additional damage to the grape and leaf branch. This branch is currently not attached. There are several old drill holes in the top of the cornucopia where the branch attaches. These holes appear to be worn and the screws no longer hold. Losses to the leaves and grape clusters. One leaf is off but present. There are several glass grapes off but present as well.
