Description

Title: 2 “Sport Plast” Salesman’s Sampler Wood Duck Decoys

Provenance/Additional Info: A pair (Male and Female) Salesman’s Sample Wood Duck Decoys, stamped “Sports Plast, Made in Italy” (for the American market) on the bottom. Finely molded, light plastic miniatures, these birds were made for salesmen to carry around easily. They measure about 5 ½” from beak to tail (drake is slightly larger than the hen) x 2” (wide) x 2 ¼” (high at the head). They have a felt bottom with an impressed mark. These probably date c. 1960 and are in very fine condition. It would be fun to try to put together a full set of the various species.
