A French late 19th century ormolu mounted acajou mouchete (plum pudding mahogany), ebony banded and brass inlaid hauteur d'appui a l'Anglaise or buffet-cabinet
in the Louis XVI style
1880-1900, of breakfront D-shaped outline, with beaded and mille raie panel mounts, the moulded breche d'alep marble top above one long frieze drawer flanked by mille raie tablet angles, over a pair of raised re-entrant panelled doors each with a central mount depicting three putti frolicking beside a beehive, enclosing one shelf, flanked by two engaged stop-fluted columns and six pierced galleried marble tiers with mirror-inset back panels, above a raised panelled central door centred by a mount of Cupid seated on a boat with a pair of love birds nesting nearby, enclosing one shelf, flanked by two raised panelled doors enclosing two shelves, on elongated fluted toupie feet, 119cm wide x 42cm deep x 164cm high, (46 1/2in wide x 16 1/2in deep x 64 1/2in high)
