Description
Antique Skull Pipe Bowl C.P.F Best Make Pipe Bowl This is an antique wood carved bowl of a pipe carved into a skull with its sterling band and original case. This pipe is missing its stem but this piece dates back to the 1880s. This is a rare and unique bowl design for C.P.F Best Make Pipes. Size of bowl: 3 in wide, 2 1/2in tall, 1 1/2in thick Size of case: approx: 4 1/2in wide x 1 1/2in thick x 4in tall Weight: 0.2lbs History: CPF stands for Colossus Pipe Factory. By the mid-1890’s CPF was owned by Kaufman Brothers & Bondy (KB&B). They operated the factory at 129 Grand Street, in New York City, New York. I had a faint memory of some connection between CPF and Kaufmann Brothers & Bondy. The brand was purchased by KB & B sometime between 1884 and 1898 and that it continued until 1915.
