Wonderful oil on canvas folk art portrait of a young girl holding a cat, signed verso “Sarah Jane DeFrance, aged 4 years, 1824”. 29.25”x23.5”
It appears to have the original frame and stretcher, it has been professionally cleaned and relined. Under blacklight, there is inpainting at her forehead about the size of a quarter, her left arm where it meets the cat’s paw and a few other very minor areas.
