GUGLIELMO BRAMBILLA (Bergamo, 1991).
"Fluffy Plinth.
ABS filament and nylon fibre.

Size: 24 x 10 x 10 cm.
Weight: 350 gr.
Fluffy Plinth represents the continuation of the recent exploration of domestic altars and objects of remembrance.
It is a small assembled podium that aims to elevate the emotional aspect of a beloved object and to showcase one's own aesthetics. At the same time, it allows one to slowly process unfamiliar references and absorb their language, establishing a mutual relationship between the objects and the owner, who creates compositions and whose imaginative process is influenced by the compositions themselves.
The piece has a velvety surface, obtained through the flocking process, which consists of applying fine particles to an adhesive coated surface through an electric field, the negatively charged fibres are deposited vertically on a grounded substrate. This type of finish evokes contrasting references, reminiscent of luxury jewellery boxes and childhood toys at the same time, and thus creates an altar that elevates the beloved objects without intimidating the viewer.
Its playful colours and warm texture attract the eye, but the smoothness of the surface communicates the preciousness of its purpose.
Guglielmo Brambilla is a designer based in Milan, London and Seoul, where he currently lives. He trained in Italy and Denmark, and then worked for Nicholai Wiig Hansen, Philippe Malouin, Bethan Laura Wood and Fabrica.
She is fascinated by material culture, the narrative power of objects and the rituals associated with them. He believes in the importance of traditions, but also in the need to recontextualise them by introducing new artefacts and habits. His projects have been exhibited at the Triennale Design Museum, the Fuorisalone and the MARQ in Buenos Aires.
In 2019, AD Italia selected him among the "Seven for the Future", the new generation of Italian designers.
