A stunning modern lithograph in monochromatic colors, with an annotation of 86/125, hand signed in pencil on the bottom right by Chinese-French artist Zao-Wou Ki. Dated 1962. This showcases the artist’s signature style mixing modernism with traditional Chinese landscape painting. There is a sense of fluidity, grace, and luminosity. Dimensions: 35.75h x 29.5w (framed). In excellent condition. Zao Wou-Ki (1921-2013) was a Chinese-French painter. He was a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Zao Wou-Ki graduated from the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, where he studied under Fang Ganmin and Wu Dayu. He was directly inspired by modern masters such as Paul Cezanne, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso in the 1940s, and his artistic circle included Alberto Giacometti, Joan Miro, and Sam Francis. In his lifetime Zao exhibited his art internationally and his art is now in the permanent collection of the Louvre, Centre Pompidou, the MET, the Guggenheim, and the Tate to name a few. Today, Zao has reached art sale records of $65 million.
