Antique 1920s Hand Hammered Danish Copper Urn

Item Details

Description

This is an antique hand hammered copper urn dating to the 1920s. The provenance from the Upstate New York estate is this: "Grandfather Kruse", of Copenhagen, Denmark, lovingly crafted this urn as a wedding present. The urn can be spotted in the accompanying black and white photograph of a woman with her daughter. Grandpa Kruse made the urn for the pictured woman's wedding. The photo is dated 1937.
It is 15 1/2" total height and 11" to the top of the rim. The base and opening diameter is 6 3/8" and 6" respectively. The max diameter is 8 3/4".

Condition

In overall very good condition. There are scattered dents and dings. Scratches and some surface abrasions. There is a slight lean to the lid finial. The lid fits securely to the base. This condition is consistent with age and use.
