First-hand reporting on the "trial" and hanging of John Jenkins, sketched and published in San Francisco. Jenkins was one of the notorious Sydney Ducks, Australian ex-convicts and escaped convicts who came to California during the Gold Rush. The Sydney Ducks were one of the targets of the actions of the First Vigilance Committee. Baird 79; Peters, California on Stone, p. 133 & Plate 66.
