Description

A large faceted clear glass newel post finial or 'boule d'escalier' in the form of a teardrop over a brass base encapsulated between four leaf forms, also with the original fastening screw, probably mid to late 19th century. Condition; glass with a few flea bites, natural patina to metal, some grime, good overall. Finial and base (without screw) approx. 9.5" H x 3.5" W (at widest), screw an additional 2" L.
