This is a phenomenal face jug by the late Catawba Valley Potter Vance Lowery. He died in a boating accident in 2006. Every pot by Vance is unique and almost always with so much bright & fun colors. He employs the early red lead glaze (this was later banned in the latter 2000's) in great face looking up at the sky. Also Vance just loves to separately glaze a portion of the china teeth which he did here. The face stands 7.5" by 7". And is signed and dated 2003 on the base.
