Ben Owen I worked at Jugtown for about 4 decades and then in the 60's went on to open his own shop. This classic lidded beanpot by him is only unmistakably work. His works, once one knows how to id them, are incredibly recognizable. He added these great oversized lug handles to the beanpot. In the 1960's he very commonly tapped Tobacco Spit for glazing his pots. And he employed the circular Ben Owen Master Potter stamp until his final shop or stamp in the early 1980's. Stands 7.5" by 8" w/ circular stamp as described above on the base.
