Description
A generously-sized porcelain Chinese teapot with colorful rose medallion painting. The molded teapot has matching round lid and a woven bamboo handle. There is gilding on the spout, handle structures, and in the backgrounds of the floral borders. The foot is shallow and unglazed. The base is glazed.MEASUREMENTS7 ¼” (18.4 cm) wide x 4 ¾” (12.1 cm) diameter x 5 ¾” (14.6 cm) tall with handle down. 8 ¾” (22.2 cm) tall with handle up. Weighs 2 lbs 0.5 oz (920 g)CONDITIONThere are two chips along the rim and a few glaze chips in the decoration. There are no other chips, cracks, or breaks. There is some gilding loss to the round medallions on the body, the mouth, and on the loops holding the handle. There are the common kiln flaws, such as spots, bumps, and black spots. The handle is in very good shape; although the wrap around the wires that secure the handle to the teapot show wear.A great teapot to use or add to a teapot or Rose Medallion collection.ITEM IDPor-3266COLORGold, Green, Pink, Red, WhiteITEM TYPEAntiquePURPOSETeapotsSTYLEQingTYPEChinese Export, Hand Made, Hand Painted, PorcelainORIGINChina • Chinese
