Description
The cigarette case is of silver, decorated with relief and nielloed composition: Tamara and Demon. The Kiss, (according to Mihaly Zichy drawing to Mikhail Lermontov's poem "Demon"). Set with an oval cabochon on the clasp. Circa 1910. Gilded interior. Hallmarks: 84 silver standard next to a woman's head in a kokoshnik turned to the right; maker's initials "AIP" (Cyrillic). Alexander Ivanovich Piskarev, owner of a silverware workshop, silver engraver, 1908-1913.Weight: 6.8 oz., 194 gr.
