Footnote: Herbert Ritts Jr. was an American fashion photographer known for his photographs of models, celebrities and cultural figures during the 1980s and 1990s. He was particularly known for his monochrome portraits, frequently based on classical Greek sculpture accentuating the human form. His catalogue of work included celebrity portraits of Elizabeth Taylor, Cher, Madonna, Ronald Reagan, David Bowie, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey, fashion models Naomi Campbell, Tatjana Patitz and Cindy Crawford alongside working with many of the leading fashion designers such as Giorgio Armani, Ralph Lauren and Gianni Versace.
