PENNSYLVANIA, OHIO, AND OTHER COIN SILVER SPOONS AND TONGS, LOT OF 17, comprising a pair of sugar tongs with shell grips and a teaspoon by Thomas Jefferson Megear of Wilmington, DE (active 1831-1832) and Philadelphia, PA (active 1832-1858), a pair of tablespoons by John Curry of Philadelphia and Newburgh, PA (active 1825-1867), two tablespoons and a teaspoon by R. & W. Wilson of Philadelphia (active c.1825-1846), three tablespoons by Fletcher & Gardiner of Boston, MA (active 1808-1810) and Philadelphia (active 1811-1827), a pair of teaspoons by Eliakim Garretson of Wilmington, DE (active c.1785-1811), a small teaspoon by Emmor Trego Weaver of Philadelphia (active 1808-1833), a teaspoon probably attributed to John K. Housel of Lewisburg, PA (1823-1845) and Freeport, IL (c. 1850-1860), a small teaspoon by Andrew Osthoff of Pittsburgh, PA (active 1814-1818), a tablespoon with fiddle thread handle by Hazen & Collins of Cincinnati, OH (active 1843-1847), and a pair of sugar tongs by Henry Harry Safford of Gallipolis, Marietta, and Zanesville, OH (active 1800-1812), most with personalized engraving to handle. Each marked, some with "STANDARD" mark. Total weight: 21.69 ozt. Late 18th/19th century. 5 1/4" to 9 1/8" L.
Condition
Mostly in good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including bending, dents, nicks, and/or worn bowl tips, possibly one or two repairs.
