Description
WASHINGTON, DC STERLING SILVER ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, each with floral decoration, comprising a tea caddy having ovoid-form well with all-over chased and repousse decoration, topped by original cover, and a compote with ornate bas-relief and reticulated rim and foot, engraved "JDA" to center of well and "1914" to base. Each with "STERLING" and maker's marks, tea caddy with mark for M.W. Galt Bro. & Co. of Washington, DC (active 1871-1892), compote with mark for Galt & Bro. of Washington, DC (active 1892-2000). Total weight: 13.350 ozt. Fourth quarter 19th and early 20th century. 3 3/4" and 4 1/4" HOA.

Good to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other minor to moderate imperfections including bending, dents, nicks, and worn spots to raised decoration; tea caddy with a few small holes and splits, denting notably to base.
