Description
ASSORTED TUNBRIDGE WARE AND SIMILAR SEWING BOXES / CONTAINERS AND ARTICLES, LOT OF FOUR, comprising a mosaic-patterned example featuring slide-top cover fitted with a pincushion top; a stickware-patterned combination pincushion with waxer; a cylinder-form example, pin-poppet with red, yellow and black pin-striping, top of cover with a paper label "Token of Esteem", interior fitted with a pincushion; and an example with a stylized mosaic pattern and hinged cover, green ground with brown, red and tan colors, underside with an illegible handwritten pencil message, enclosed with a card in which this was won at the Milan Exposition in 1861 and again in 1872 by Ferdinand Gilardoni Company. Each retains collection number sticker and detailed collection card. Second half 19th century. 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" HOA.

Condition
Very good overall condition, expected moderate wear; pincushion-topped example lacking a corner to bases top rim, each of the corners and a small end piece with gluing; remaining mosaic-decorated example with scattered losses to the edges, cover with a small corner separation and base with a significant separation.
