Item Details

Description

Circa 19th century oversized antique wood book press on bun turned feet with single horizontal drawer and ball shaped pull. The piece features ball turned finials and an inset panel on the drawer front. Please note of wear consistent with age including patina, chips, and finish loss to the wood as seen on the feet, reeded trim, and finials. Particular patina is noted on the barley twist shaped central column due to daily use by the 19th Century bookmakers. The book press measures 31"W x 23.50"D x 48"H.
