Pair of upholstered Louis XVI style open armchairs with upholstered armrests, painted wood frame, carved fluted trim on the arm supports, scrolled arm holds, and rounded seat backs on fluted legs. The chairs are further detailed on the seat backs with Chinoiserie style illustrations of a pagoda building on one chair and stylized Chinoiserie figures on the other chair, both framed by a floral wreaths. The back of the seat includes a painted ribbon and foliate motif. Please note of wear consistent with age including patina loss to the wood, surface chips, and discoloration. The fabric also shows evidence of wear and staining as seen on the striped fabric seat and upholstered seat back. The armchairs measure 23"W x 24"D by 37"H x 19"SD x 20"SH.
