Description
This cashe of stone tools is thought to be used for fire starting and food preparation. The two gray stones are each pierced for the ends of a bow drill. Each is about 3 1/2 in. long. One has a second hole near one end. It may have been pierced for a cordage and used as a pendant so as not to be lost. There are two red stone tools that are highly polished, at about 2 in. in length. These tools may have been used in food preparation for grain grinding or husking. A third red stone is about 5 in. in length with two pierced holes, centered in the stone, but drilled at an angle. The purpose is unknown; it may have been suspended from cordage and used as a fishing net weight. City: State: Date:
