Item Details

Description

The long Masai throwing Spear is 6 foot and 2" long. The shorter fishing Spear is 5 foot and 5" long. These are used by the Masai in Kenya, Northern Tanzania, and Southern Ethiopia. The average Masai man is around 7 foot 2" so a longer Spear is needed. The hunting or "Throwing Spear" can be launched over 250 feet, but more accurately at 100 or less. The fishing Spear has a barb on it to pull the fish back to the user. These types of Spears have been used for a Century or more.
