Impressive full plate French daguerreotypes depicting what appear to be a well-to-do husband and wife. Both sitters are posed next to a small table covered with a delicately tinted blanket or long tablecloth. Great care was taken to add life-like coloring to their skin and eyes. The wife wears jewelry, which is richly ornamented with gold gilt, while her husband holds a cigar.

Both portraits are housed in their original, elaborate black frames. They remain in excellent condition (though the glass appears in need of cleaning). One frame is missing a small portion of its edge.
