Chinese Qing Dynasty Famille Rose Porcelain Brush pot On Carved Hardwood Stand. Potted in cylindrical body, thick, deep, gently tapered to straight close flori mouth rim, with concave flat base to input pen, raised with short flori foot base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white and famille rose design color, depicted of sampan boat sailing over peace lishui river surround with tree, flowers bloom, rocky rock and mountain, all in salubrious landscape. Many mountains in China are sacred, represent the yang element in the landscape and as such connect to the governing yang element in China the Emperor. Mountain is one of the eight trigrams in Feng Shui and Yi Jing. Of these Taishan is considered the most important and stones from the mountain were often placed in towns across China as a lucky charm. The Under-base bears a reign mark, a four under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue rectangle lines. Made in The Years QianLong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
