Description
Mainly 14th-18th century A.D. A mixed group of decorative belt mounts comprising: a Lombardic letter M dated c.1300-1500; shells; openwork lozenges; stylised floral mounts with sexfoil and octofoil bodies; lozengiform mount engraved with the letter A, dated c.1500-1700; mount with scalloped sides pierced three times and stamped with annulets; square-shaped mount with central boss and ring of floral stamps, combining to create one large flower head; square mount decorated with a bird standing amongst foliage; oval-shaped mount with three rows of decorative piercings; mount of trefoil form, scalloped terminals. 70 grams total, 11-47 mm (3/8 - 1 7/8 in.) Found Thames foreshore, Tower of London, UK. Accompanied by a copy of Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS) report numbers LON-33F3F4; LON-45DA48. [16, No Reserve]
