This is an original watercolor painting by artist Louis Leon Ribak (American, 1902-1979). Ribak was a social realist and abstract painter who was a member of the "Taos Moderns" group of artists.
This large framed painting features a rustic country lane with houses and barns on either side. It also depicts neighbors enjoying a chat on the sunny summer afternoon. Signed on the lower right corner. From the estate of Gerald Goldberg, Esq., Lord Mayor of Cork, Ireland (1977-1978). The son of Lithuanian Jewish refugees, Goldberg was the first ever Jewish Lord Mayro of Cork.
The frame is 36 1/2 x 26 1/2" and the mat sight is 28 1/2 x 18 3/4".
