French Louis XVI Style Ormolu Mounted Carved Walnut Secretary Abattant, early 19th c., the ogee edge figured white cookie corner marble over a frieze drawer above a fall front with an inset gilt tooled leather writing surface, opening to an interior fitted with open shelves and six drawers, above three deep drawers flanked by reeded engaged column edges, on turned tapered ormolu mounted legs, H.- 57 3/4 in., W.- 37 in., D.- 15 in.
Condition
One small piece of decorative trim is now missing (approx. 2 in. x ½ in.). Key is present and in working order. Drawers work smoothly. Leather shows signs of heavy wear but no rips or tears. Handsome example.
