Description
Fragment of a Velvet Brocade Robe, China, possibly 17th/18th century, a central front-facing four-clawed mang dragon clutching a flaming pearl, two side-facing dragons below, above a border of rolling waves and lishui stripes, all woven in copper and gold threads, two smaller square fragments of the same robe added to the top, lg. 75 3/4 in.

Condition: Several splits and tears to velvet, particularly left edge, small holes and repairs towards edges and corners.
