Ancient Near East, Iran and Turkey, Tepe Sialk (also Tepe Siaulk), ca. 4000 to 3600 BCE. A wheel-thrown pottery drinking cup with an inverted piriform body and a wide rim all upon a thick foot. The upper body is adorned with incised linear motifs that are accentuated with applied black pigment. Size: 3.4" W x 5.625" H (8.6 cm x 14.3 cm)
