Description
Henry EddyNew Jersey, Massachusetts,1878-1944
Depicts a distant cabin surrounded by trees in a hazy blue mist. Eddy first studied at the Pingry School under August Mills before studying at the Pratt Institute. After joining the Art Students League, Eddy furthered his studies John H. Twachtman and Stephen A. Douglas Volk as well as George E. Browne and Alphonse Mucha. Later in life, Eddy became president of the Westfield Art Association, a member of the Artist Fund Society, Allied Artists of America, American Painters, Plainfield Art Association, Salmagundi Club, Lotus Club, and the Montclair Art Association. His works are now part of collections at the Milwaukee Art Institute, The Artnot Art Gallery, and the Lotus Club, as well as many local Nantucket collections.

Relined, frame with some surface wear and losses, minor wear around rabbet, craquelure, otherwise good condition.
