Description
mid 20th century, white backing, constructed from 48 individual squares stitched together, notable retraced autographs include Lucille Ball, Ed Sullivan, Art Linkletter, John Wayne, Eddie Fisher, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, Doris Day, as well as former Presidents Dwight Eisenhower, Herbert Hoover, and Harry Truman, 72 x 90 in.
Note: This quilt was made by and for a little girl named Judy, the first of Jerry Lewis' "kids" to appear on his televised fundraising telethon for his muscular dystrophy organization. Judy sent solid color cotton squares to television and radio celebrities of the era to autograph. The autographs were then embroidered and the squares joined together into a quilt.
