A LOUIS XVI STYLE FLAME AND BURL MAHOGANY EXTENSION DINING TABLE, 19TH CENTURY, with long sides and rounded solid mahogany ends, above a frieze of burled mahogany recessed panels and raised on octagonal carved capitals on conforming burled legs tapering to square form feet ending in bronze sabots on casters, including three later leaves (ea. 20"); extended height: 30 1/2", length: 8' 1/2", depth: 47".

Restored condition throughout, top clear varnished, frieze panels are dry and some have age shrinkage cracks, repairs, fading throughout, legs lengthened, both central legs are later, leaves are later and not quite as faded nor of same flame mahogany.  Simpson Galleries strongly encourages in-person inspection of items by the bidder.
