Pair of Italian Renaissance-Style Exuberantly Carved Walnut Benches

late 19th century, each with a tall back with a broken-arch pediment centered by a satyr's head with carved swags, over a panel depicting a pair of putti and flanked by winged and bearded allegorical figures, the seat with a scalloped edge and leaf- and vine-carved center, on a base with like carving, framed by scrolls and volutes.

Both are in good condition. Scattered dings to the seats and legs consistent with age and use. No sign of damage. The backs are a little loose and could be tightened with some underside screws. Great overall rich color and patina.
