English Oak Dresser Base

late 20th century, constructed from antique elements, the long rectangular top with a molded edge, above a conforming frieze fitted with four short drawers over a shaped apron, joined to a lower shelf by circular turned supports, the whole raised on block feet.

In very good polished and restored condition. The piece exhibits normal mars, dings, shrinkage and wear, most of those blemishes beneath the current polish. There is an area of partially lifted finish on the top. The case is tight with no movement. The drawers open and close freely. Their interior dimensions vary slightly from drawer to drawer as they are hand-made, but are approximately: height 4-7/8", width 12-3/8" and depth 14". The low shelf exhibits some minor shrinkage separations along the seams of the board comprising its bottom, laid down front to back.
