Mid-Century Modern Painting Richard Treaster (American 1932-2002) March Garden. Beautiful watercolor painting of a late winter/early spring landscape, with windblown grasses and the beginnings of green in the foreground. A faculty memberat theCleveland Institute of Art for many years and a master of the medium of watercolor with many one man shows and whose work is in many museum collections, Treaster was a student of Andrew Wyeth, whose influence is clear in this atmospheric painting. Nicely framed in wood, protected with a double mat. Signed lower left and labeled on the back from the artist’s studio, “March Garden, 1977”.
