Description
A simple but pleasantly designed clock of considerable quality and age. Circa 1920. Presumably a wall clock as there is no evidence that it ever had feet or a stand. Heavy bronze casting with a clam broth colored glass face and brass and/or bronze numbers and minute markers pinned into the glass face and black painted hands. An electric movement which we did plug in to test; works well but sounds as if it is tired, probably needs some form of maintenance. 8 1/2" square and 3 1/2" tall / deep. No marks to bronze case but the movement is marked General Time Instruments Corp. with numerable patent numbers & Made in U.S.A. (back when we used to make things here). CONDITION: Excellent and undamaged. Movement working but with a lumbering sound effect. Plug not wired through to back of case and will require a new cord. (see images to see how they had it wired ~ a bit of a time capsule really ~ does the buyer want the socket? Let us know.). There are a few paint specs here and there. Lastly, one brass minute marker missing at face and note some loss of paint to the hour hand.
