Attributed to Wooton, the cylinder desk carved in walnut with multiple panels of gilt and ebonized details with various interior compartments below a central slide-out tooled black leather writing surface
This desk appears to be a variation to the No. 10 Extra Grade seen in "Wooton Patent Desks: A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place" by J. Camille Showalter & Janice Tolhurst Driesbach and in "American Furniture of the 19th Century: 1840-1880" by Eileen & Richard Dubrow.
