Italian silver salt cellar - Naples, 1832-1872, mark of GAETANO PANE (?)
a double silver open salt cellar resting on feral foot, central ring handle. Accompanied by two small spoons of the same period but by a different silversmith. Hallmarked by the guild of goldsmiths of Naples for a silver fineness of 833/1000, 1832-1872, assayer Gennaro Mannara, and with the mark of a silversmith who could possibly be identified as Gaetano Pane (Ref. Elio e Corrado Catello, argenti napoletani page 145). Salt cellar: height 16 cm, width 16.8 cm; weight 194 g. Spoons: length 10.3 cm, weight 22 g. Item condition grading: **** good.
