Author:
Title: FANTASTIC WORLDS No. 7
Place Published:
Publisher:Standard [Indicia: Literary Enterprises, Inc.]
Date Published: January, 1953
Description:
Fine (6.0). Light spine stress, tiny color flake from spine crown, crisp edges, sharp corners, slightest ghost of a curve to spine, a few stray fox marks to covers, musty whiff. Cream to off-white pages. Cover: John Celardo. Scripts: Otto Binder, others. Art: Ralph Mayo, Ross Andru (Mike Eposito inks), Jon L. Blummer. GPAnalysis: Only five reported sales in all grades. A 6.0 sold for $135 in 2016. Most recent sale: A 3.5 sold for $235 in February 2021.
Standard's sci-fi scenarios were more closely aligned with DC's tepid "Mystery in Space" than Fiction House's seminal "Planet Comics" or EC's trailblazing "Weird Science" and "Weird Fantasy," but with the saving grace of Ross Andru's slickly competent art.
