A female Crypt-Keeper clone invites readers into her "hole of horror" (ew) where she dishes up a tasteless tale entitled "The Running Ghost." Pre-Code pundit George Suarez says of the story, "This is the most graphic tale offered in the title to date. Luther is a mortician who makes a little money on the side by selling the bodies he's supposed to be burying to a medical school for anatomy studies. The decapitated heads and severed limbs of some of his 'customers', complete with nauseatingly bloody necks and stumps, return to plague his conscience, and subsequently drive him into the path of an oncoming train." — G. Suarez, Tales To Terrible To Tell #5. NEC: 1992, p. 30.
