Light tan pages. Cover: Mort Meskin? Art: Mort Meskin (George Roussos inks), Rocco Mastroserio, Mike Roy, Gene Fawcette. Final issue. GPAnalysis: A 3.0 sold for an anomalously low $43 in October 2020; a 4.5 sold for $228 in June 2020.
Multiple decapitation panel by Rocco Mastroserio (six severed heads tumble out of a trunk of terror); some nice werewolf art by Mort Meskin; woman impaled from behind by spurned suitor in a panel with rape-like imagery; ghost strangles gal.
"Out of the Shadows #14 is the last issue and perhaps this is why Standard pulls out all the stops with a very short (3 pages) tale, 'Junk Man's Treasure,' in which yet another taboo is broken: decapitated heads... It's strangely appropriate that the most graphic and extreme panel ever published by Standard appeared in the company's very last pre-Code horror comic book!" — George Suarez, Tales To Terrible To Tell #7. NEC: 1992-93, p. 38.
