⁂ The British Gazette was a short lived newspaper published by the Government during the General Strike of 1926. The Gazette was highly condemnatory of the Strike, making its position as an official government publication clear, and from issue no.4 the phrase "Please pass on this copy or display it" was printed on the masthead so as to further encourage dissemination of information.
