The action photography of Rudolf Schwarzkogler is one of the most important achievements of the neo-avant-garde in the 1960s. With these works, which the youngest representative of the Viennese Actionists realised in a period of only fifteen months, he is considered a pioneer of Performance or Body Art, as well as Conceptual Photography or Postmodern Staged Photography. Like his first two, Schwarzkogler realised the third action in the flat of Heinz Cibulka, who acted as an actor. The print offered is from the first set of enlargements, produced in Verona from Hoffenreich’s negatives, edited by Francesco Conz, and is thus a special rarity. Die Aktionsfotografie von Rudolf Schwarzkogler zählt zu den bedeutendsten Leistungen der Neoavantgarde der 1960er Jahre. Mit diesen Arbeiten, die der jüngste Vertreter der Wiener Aktionisten im Zeitraum von nur fünfzehn Monaten realisierte, gilt er als Wegbereiter der Performance oder Body Art, der konzeptuellen Fotografie oder der Staged Photography der Postmoderne. Wie seine beiden ersten, verwirklichte Schwarzkogler auch die dritte Aktion in der Wohnung von Heinz Cibulka, der als Akteur fungierte. Der angebotene Print stammt aus dem ersten hergestellten Set an Vergrößerungen, das in Verona von Francesco Conz von Hoffenreichs Originalnegativen abgezogen wurde und ist somit eine besondere Rarität.
