In addition to the terrains, the flora and the forces of nature in all their pictorial intensity, the change of the seasons – particularly pronounced in Japan – is also a vital part of his work. Als einer der bedeutendsten Landschaftsfotografen Japans dokumentiert Toshinobu die verschiedenen Gebiete seiner Heimat in möglichst unberührtem Zustand, gleichsam vor der Prägung durch den Menschen.
