Description
Keith Fay oil canvas, 27 x 23 inches. Title: A Winter Evening. Provenance: private owner.
Biography: 1920 - 2008. Keith Fay and his father had a shoe store on Broadway in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Keith was active in painting in Scottsbluff and his art as well as that of his wife, Dorothy, hung in the shoe store. After closing the shoe store he and Dorothy moved to Jackson. They had a gallery on the square The Happy Peasant Gallery before moving it to Wilson Wyoming and opening The Fay Gallery next to their homeThese are just a few of my thoughts of a wonderful man I've know from childhood...I would get my shoes each fall and another pair just before Easter from him...he always made this child at that time feel so grown up...many years later after he moved from Scottsbluff our paths crossed again ...as my husband and I had an art gallery in Casper Wyoming and Keith came in and visited one day. We carried his work until we closed our gallery...He was Happy...talented...and even when his hips and legs took everything he could do to move he never lost that smile ...he was a true friend...and is missed.
