Description
Matched Pair of Phoenix Art Glass Sculptural Glass Wild Rose Vase in Frosted White Finish. Phoenix Glass Company was founded in 1880 in Pennsylvania. The firm made commercial products, such as lampshades, bottles, and glassware. Collectors today are interested in the "Sculptured Artware" made by the company from the 1930s until the mid-1950s. Some pieces of Phoenix glass are very similar to those made by the Consolidated Lamp and Glass Company. Phoenix made Reuben Blue, lavender, and yellow pieces. Phoenix Glass Company produced Consolidated's famous Martele line from 1933 to 1936 and sold it under the name Phoenix Reuben-Line. These colors were not used by Consolidated. In 1970 Phoenix became a division of Anchor Hocking, then was sold to the Newell Group in 1987. The company is still working. Each 10 1/2". Weight combined 8 pds 2 oz.
